2.The advantages of continuous casting line :
    The rapid development of continuous casting technology is a very dramatic trend in the development of the contemporary iron and steel industry.The reason why continuous casting is developong rapidly is that it has greater technical and economic advantages compared with the traditional ingot mold casting .The following aspects.
     (1)Simplify the production process
    As continuous casting can save the process of blooming,not only saving the energy consumption of soaking furnace heating ,but also shorten the cycle time from the molten steel to the blank.One of the major developments in continuous casting in recent years is the tendency to cast slabs close to the finished cross-section size,which will further simplify the rolling process.
    (2)increase the yield of metal
    The yield from steel ingot casting to molten steel is about 84-88%,while the continuous casting is about 95-96%,so using continuous casting process can save 7-12%of the metal,which is a considerable number .One of the important reasons why the Japanese steel industry is competitive in the world is the large-scale adoption of continuous casting in the steel industry .Since 1985,Japan′ s continuous casting ratio has exceeded 90%.For the cost of special steel,stainless steel,the use of continuous casting method of casting,its economic value even greater China′ s second steel plant in Wuhan Iron and Steel Company instead of casting with continuous casting,the cost per ton of billet reduced about 170 yuan,acording to the annual output of 800 million tons,annual revenue of about 1.35 billion yuan.This shows that increasing the metal recovery rate and simplifying the production process will gain considerable economic benefits.
    (3)save energy consumption
    According to relevant information,the production of 1 ton of slab cast than the billet energy saving 627~ 1046KJ,equivlent to 21.4~35.7kg standard coal,coupled with the increased rate of finished products saving energy consumption greater than 100kg standard coal.Calculated according to the current energy consumption level in our country,the comprehensive energy saving per ton of slab is about 130kg standard coal.
    (4)improve working conditions,easy to automate
    Continuous casting of high degree of mechanization and automation,continuous casting process has been achieved by the computer automatically control,so that workers from the bulky manual labor libration.In recent years,with the development of science and technology and the improvement of automation level,the electronic computer is also used for the control of continuous casting production.All except the pouring operation of pouring steel,all of them are controlled by computers.For example,China′s Baosteel slab caster,the entire production system using 5 sets of PFU-1500 computer for on-line control,with cutting length calculation,compression casting control,electromagnetic stirring settings,online mold width adjustment,quality management,Cold water control,process data collection,slab,tracking,finishing line selection,flame cleaning,slab print marking and weighing, and various report printing 31 control functions.
    (5)slab quality is good
    As the continuous casting cooling speed,continuous casting, casting conditions controllable and stable,so the slab internal organization uniform,compact,less segregation, the performance is also stable.Rolled sheet with a continuous casting,horizontal performance better than the mold, deep drawing performance Ye Hao, other performance indicators are better than die-casting. In recent years,the use of continuous casting has been able to produce a defect-free surface of the slab, hot rolled directly into steel.
